What is the Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park?
Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004, the Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park spans over 114 sq km and encompasses ruins from the 8th to 14th centuries. The park contains an exceptional concentration of archaeological heritage including fortifications, palaces, religious buildings, residential precincts, agricultural structures and water installations from the pre-Mughal era.
